Commemorative bowl produced for launch of "Union Grove" of Portsoy in 1867; white glazed porcelain with gilt decoration; inscription on one side; picture of brigantine with Danish castle behind on other side. Presented to Margaret Mair by William Smith. Four bowls were originally made and presented by William Smith as follows: his mother; his wife; his sister; Margaret Mair (believed to be a friend). The "Union Grove" was wrecked on its maiden voyage.
