Metal cuirass, dating from the early sixteenth century.

Metal cuirass with a raised centre ridge for deflection of a sword or lance. The arm and neck edges are ridged and raised for protection. The waist plate is riveted to the bottom of the cuirass. There is a hole through the lower part of the plating (circa 1685).
